WHITE PEAK
White Peak reflects on the circulation of calcium and the transformation of limestone within and without our human timescale. Central to the project is a site of a former limestone quarry in the Peak District (UK), where a new rock formation has emerged from a stream running through reactive quarrying waste.
The project is a part of a wider inquiry into anthropic rocks, material deposits made, altered or displaced by humans, questioning their fit into existing categories of knowledge. It uses personal narrative to navigate a web of entanglements, between rocks and humans, industry and landscapes of extraction, between the past, present and future.
White Peak unravels across different media, embodies different forms - text, video, livestream, calcium salts. Most recently, it was shown at Bergen Kunsthall as a three-part installation. It also became a riso-printed publication.

In April 2026, White Peak was exhibited as part of Ears the ground at Bergen Kunsthall as a three part installation. It included a three-channel video, of which one was a livestream of a transformation happening during the two weeks of the the exhibition - of a piece of limestone being dissolved and recrystallised in a glass container.
